table is here

our table is in. I am so excited. I can't WAIT to have people over for dinner and to have special breakfast mornings! I want to become an expert french toast maker. I really, really, really hate eggs. not sure if dipping the bread in them will make me gag but I am going to give it a try.

so I really do need to purchase that espresso maker!

I think I need this

I love going to starbucks but if you go every day it isn't as fun. so I am thinking of purchasing an espresso machine so I can make my own lattes at home. stewart has been getting me up at 6:45-7:15 and I am just not cut out for early mornings if I don't have something *fun* to drink.

spring shopping

it is time for new clothes and a new pair of shoes. spring is here!

this week....

we are getting curtains. our neighbors NEVER turn off their lights. no, really, I am serious. NEVER. so all night sophie is up. she sits on the back of the couch and looks out this window

she watches for things to pass by because she can see them because of their blaring lights. then she barks really loud. it is annoying. so, to put an end to our problem we are purchasing curtains so she can no longer see out the windows. these are our top two choices:

meridian-kessler area

last night we met some friends to have dinner in broad ripple.

I LOVE this area. everyone was outside and there are lots of places to eat. driving there, we came across a really homey neighborhood in the "meridian-kessler" area. when we got home I had to look up some homes. aren't these beautiful?

you had me at hello

I LOVE to drive down a street in indianapolis called meridian. it has really wide streets with lots of trees and BEAUTIFUL homes. I am so glad we were able to rent a house before we actually purchased one here. we have certainly ruled out areas we thought we would like living before. I found this house tonight and OH MY GOSH, how I LOVE IT! AND it has only had one owner. the home was built in 1928. can you imagine?

front (I would get rid of those shutters or at least the color of them)

bath. I LOVE this bathroom

great family room with hardwoods underneath

entry. can you picture it without the home alone wallpaper?

THIS KITCHEN! oh my gosh, I would paint those cabinets and get rid of the hideous tile. people pay big money to have cabinets like those. I LOVE them!

the dining room. crazy for those built-ins!

breakfast room. picture it with hardwoods. LOVE those windows!

cute bedroom

if only, if only we could sell our home in florida!!

spring? please...

I think today is supposed to be the last day in the 40's. tomorrow and all next week it is supposed to be in the high 60's and 70's. this time of year was always my favorite time in florida. we would always have the windows open and I would be giddy all day. it made me reminisce about our cruise last year around this time. today I was checking out resorts in mexico and thought it would be really fun to take my husband on a trip.

special day

on saturday bry and I spent the entire day together. it was SO fun!
first we stopped at a salvage yard.

next we ate at one of the best indy restaurants we've eaten at so far

it is in a really cool log house that was built in the 1880's.

next we stopped by to purchase our dining room table. so excited!! it will be here in 2 weeks!

then we went to pottery barn to purchase a rug for underneath the table. the one I wanted was a little too much so I was trying to settle on something else. a pottery barn employee came over to see if we had any questions. I asked if they had a rug I had wanted a while ago but couldn't find anymore. he said, yes, we actually have that in the back and it is on sale.

it was $129 for a 5x8. I had $100 gift card, a 10% off coupon and spent a total of $25.18 on it! I have gotten lucky with rugs from them lately!
we then stopped in and had a cupcake at the flying cupcake.

later that evening we hit downtown and watched a game and played darts. happy 4 years to us!

favorite wedding pictures

happy 4 years!

yesterday was our 4 year anniversary! I can't believe it has been 4 years!!! my husband surprised me with these nice flowers

and a super sweet card. love him. I had planned on us going out of town for our anniversary but he had to work. so today we are celebrating and hopefully purchasing our dining room table as our gift to each other.
I found this great little piece the other day while at an antique store. I just love it. it has character, is nice and old and it will be a perfect fit for our bathroom.

it really happened!

elsa came and spent the night! my sister and I were kidding when we asked her if she wanted to. elsa said yes. we thought she was kidding but she wasn't. she grabbed her suitcase and packed her things and was ready to go. we thought at some point she would want to go home.

-these pictures are kind of blurry because they were taken with my phone. okay, wait, really blurry!-

we made chili together

she and bry talked about her day
(please ignore our plastic dining room table!)

she talked to bry from the laundry shoot

we snuggled on the couch, watched bolt and ate popcorn!

read clifford.

I thought for sure at this point in the night I would be taking her home. I checked on her all night. she was sound asleep. around 7:30 in the morning I heard her talking. I peeked in and watched her read to her babies. I almost burst into tears. she is so sweet.

the next day we went shopping for her own bath towel for our house and her own pjs. it was so fun. on the way home, I looked back and saw this

I came home and saw this

and missed her instantly. I loved our special night together!

easter pictures-a little late

I was so excited about easter this year. this marks the first year that I haven't had to fly in for a special occasion. I was able to drive over and spend time with my family. it was great! I was really excited to make our niece and nephew easter baskets!

because santos is our "good dog" he gets to go with me places. he requires no leash and loves to lay in the yard

and play ball. ALL DAY!

while elsa and brennan hunted for eggs

santos rested

I know my current site is good but I want it to be GREAT. the new site will be easier to navigate, size charts will be listed and you won't have to scroll all the way down to see options. a day of hope

this morning I had an early doctor's appointment. I was hesitant to go. with a little push from my sister, I went. and I sure am glad I did.
no one wants to hear the "you can't have kids" or "something is wrong with you" when trying to have children. I am afraid of that news so I put off going to the doctor as long as I could.
this doctor's office was pretty sweet. it smelled really good too. then I met my doctor and I felt like I was sitting with my aunt aud (one of my favorite people on this earth.) she assured me that we would walk through steps together and really made me feel like I wasn't crazy. and she LISTENED to me. I was glad. I feel hopeful. many more appointments to come but I am looking forward to finding an answer. thanks to those who write me and give me hope!

on the way home I called my dear friend jen. she feels like home to me. we volunteered at the sallie house in florida together. I fell in love with a little boy the first time we went. she told me today that he might be up for adoption soon. and you better believe I will fight for him. I can't think of anything better than bringing him to our house. he would be safe, loved and we would read lots of books together!

fun dinners

I love to cook. I really do but I rarely do it. bry is the best cook and makes the greatest meals so most times I just don't want to compete! when we lived in florida I was really excited for our current kitchen and wanted to make breakfast more (even though it is my least favorite meal) and more dinners. I could eat pasta with butter and nutritional yeast every night. I love plain and simple. tonight I made sauteed spinach

pasta with red onions, asparagus, toasted walnuts,
butter and nutritional yeast

and it was really yum!

and these are my favorite pasta bowls. I bought them my freshman year of college (1997) at pottery barn. I remember they were on clearance and I was super excited to take them back to my apartment! love that font!

i heart cushions

we've had mismatched dining room chairs for a while and when we left our home in florida, we left them there. I love them but in this house I wanted something a bit more traditional. I think we've decided to do all wood chairs and a bench and add cushions like these

all mismatched, of course!

love this bed!

one of the rooms I am almost finished with decorating is our bedroom. I thought once we moved in that I didn't want an actual bed because it was surrounded by windows. then I rearranged the furniture and it is now on a wall surrounded by pictures. I LOVE this bed:

now that our dogs no longer sleep with us I am all about fabrics in our room. and if I could have a fabric bed it would be really cozy.

love love love to decorate!
