table is here

our table is in. I am so excited. I can't WAIT to have people over for dinner and to have special breakfast mornings! I want to become an expert french toast maker. I really, really, really hate eggs. not sure if dipping the bread in them will make me gag but I am going to give it a try.

so I really do need to purchase that espresso maker!

I think I need this

I love going to starbucks but if you go every day it isn't as fun. so I am thinking of purchasing an espresso machine so I can make my own lattes at home. stewart has been getting me up at 6:45-7:15 and I am just not cut out for early mornings if I don't have something *fun* to drink.

this week....

we are getting curtains. our neighbors NEVER turn off their lights. no, really, I am serious. NEVER. so all night sophie is up. she sits on the back of the couch and looks out this window

she watches for things to pass by because she can see them because of their blaring lights. then she barks really loud. it is annoying. so, to put an end to our problem we are purchasing curtains so she can no longer see out the windows. these are our top two choices:

meridian-kessler area

last night we met some friends to have dinner in broad ripple.

I LOVE this area. everyone was outside and there are lots of places to eat. driving there, we came across a really homey neighborhood in the "meridian-kessler" area. when we got home I had to look up some homes. aren't these beautiful?

you had me at hello

I LOVE to drive down a street in indianapolis called meridian. it has really wide streets with lots of trees and BEAUTIFUL homes. I am so glad we were able to rent a house before we actually purchased one here. we have certainly ruled out areas we thought we would like living before. I found this house tonight and OH MY GOSH, how I LOVE IT! AND it has only had one owner. the home was built in 1928. can you imagine?

front (I would get rid of those shutters or at least the color of them)

bath. I LOVE this bathroom

great family room with hardwoods underneath

entry. can you picture it without the home alone wallpaper?

THIS KITCHEN! oh my gosh, I would paint those cabinets and get rid of the hideous tile. people pay big money to have cabinets like those. I LOVE them!

the dining room. crazy for those built-ins!

breakfast room. picture it with hardwoods. LOVE those windows!

cute bedroom

if only, if only we could sell our home in florida!!

friday cuties!

spring? please...

I think today is supposed to be the last day in the 40's. tomorrow and all next week it is supposed to be in the high 60's and 70's. this time of year was always my favorite time in florida. we would always have the windows open and I would be giddy all day. it made me reminisce about our cruise last year around this time. today I was checking out resorts in mexico and thought it would be really fun to take my husband on a trip.

special day

on saturday bry and I spent the entire day together. it was SO fun!
first we stopped at a salvage yard.

next we ate at one of the best indy restaurants we've eaten at so far

it is in a really cool log house that was built in the 1880's.

next we stopped by to purchase our dining room table. so excited!! it will be here in 2 weeks!

then we went to pottery barn to purchase a rug for underneath the table. the one I wanted was a little too much so I was trying to settle on something else. a pottery barn employee came over to see if we had any questions. I asked if they had a rug I had wanted a while ago but couldn't find anymore. he said, yes, we actually have that in the back and it is on sale.

it was $129 for a 5x8. I had $100 gift card, a 10% off coupon and spent a total of $25.18 on it! I have gotten lucky with rugs from them lately!
we then stopped in and had a cupcake at the flying cupcake.

later that evening we hit downtown and watched a game and played darts. happy 4 years to us!
