first snowfall

yesterday we had our first snowfall since living here. big, chunky flakes. the dogs slid on ice this morning but seem fine with the drastic weather change. posts sure are boring without pictures! we will have the internet on the 27th (finally)! I will have lots of pictures of our new place. wait until you see our kitchen rug. happy Sunday!!

funny moment of the day

this morning I had an early doctor appointment. bry went with me. we entered and there were 5 people waiting. they had a nice size waiting room with about 30 chairs. everyone was spread out. I was called to the front for paperwork. when I turned around 2 minutes later to go back to my seat, a new lady had entered and decided to snuggle right next to bry. it was so funny. I laughed out loud by mistake because bry's face was so funny. his eyes looked at the 15 empty seats around him! if only I could upload a picture from my phone!

feels like home

it has almost been 24 hours since we received the keys to our new house. yesterday was crazy busy but good. the dogs are so confused but seem to be settling in to our new place. last night was their first night not sleeping with us. I actually was able to move my legs throughout the night. sophie had the hardest time of all. she was crying at the gate and after a few hours she finally laid down. this morning I took the dogs on a nice, long walk. the sun had just risen and the air was crisp. it was so nice. we might just live in the friendliest neighborhood. yesterday we had 5 people stop by to welcome us. one person even brought us homemade english muffins. it feels so good to be back home!

and the next chapter begins....

we said goodbye to our little yellow house this morning. no tears were shed. I thought surely there would be. but as we packed our 3 dogs in the car and we were all together, it just felt right. we are ready for something new. fresh. adventure. and as much negativity we've received about moving, mainly just the weather, anything is what you make of it. and this will be good.

seriously cute. I would love to have ONE for an accent chair in a room. I can't do patterns on any big piece of furniture because I have to change things about every month. I get tired of looking at the same pillows, bedding, rugs. that is why I stuck with these chairs that I received two christmases ago


I bought some really cool fabric a few weeks ago


it will be for throw pillows and dog beds. I found someone to make me the pillows and beds. but I just love this chair and anything orange lately


isn't it funny how with time (or maybe just age) your tastes change? we emptied the attic yesterday and found boxes of stuff that just isn't my style anymore. I hate that guilt you feel when you want to get rid of something but the sentimental part keeps you from parting with it. I don't think I could ever part from these chairs...

snuggle

after a long day of packing, my husband had much company.


I swear stewart thinks he is a human. he really knows how to use the pillows. if you could have only heard how loud he was snoring!

how about them apples?

I don't know why these apples make me so darn happy. I love them. I can't wait to put them in our new kitchen in the window. I stole the idea from the girl we are renting our house from. she had real ones in the window the day we looked at it and I loved it.


it just felt like home. tonight I couldn't wait to get home and get a kiss from stewart. he is always so happy to see us and always has something in his mouth. most times my shoe.
it is supposed to snow on thursday. I am so excited to see our dogs romp in the snow. it will feel so good to be home again.

one week and counting

seriously. one week. ONE. our house is packed. my husband packed the entire house by himself. I feel a bit guilty so I am planning quite a surprise for him once we get settled into our new home. stayed tuned for that! in the meantime, last week while in chattanooga, I surfed pbkids on my phone and ordered the bedding for the guest room. I am so excited. here it is:

february 1st!

I can't believe it is february already!! I am so excited for this month! in 10 short days we will be on the road to indiana! this past week I drove my car to indianapolis by myself. it was SO FUN! I stayed in tennessee and had the perfect room. a BIG king bed all to myself, a fluffy white comforter, 4 big pillows and a pizza delivery around midnight.


I stayed up late and finished some orders and then promised myself I would sleep in. for some reason I woke up extra early--6:45. can't wait for our next road trip.
