my new favorite home

this is by far my favorite house I have seen in a while because
1. it is affordable
2. it was built in the 30's
3. it has an old kitchen
4. it has an old bathroom
5. it is on over an acre
6. it has 4 bedrooms
7. it has an old shed in the backyard
8. it has hardwoods throughout
9. it has a roundabout driveway
10. it has a huge porch
11. it has character throughout the house (telephone nook)

love him

I was walking our dogs last night. it was peaceful out. the air was still. the crickets were talking. that is one of my favorite times at night. I know I always talk about our neighborhood but I am just in love here! I have a great life. I love it. it was as though the timing was perfect for our move. perfect house for us (because I am extremely picky). I need to trust more. trust timing in everything. that is very hard for me though. I can't explain the empty feeling I have inside lately though. there is just a part missing for me.
I am SO lucky to have a niece and nephew which I adore. just look at this little guy! is he not beautiful?

seriously cute picture books

since I am not the scrapbooker, these are a perfect solution

I love the vintagy look of this one. the only thing that really bothers me is the capital letters for the title, "The ABCc of You". I don't know why capital letters drive me nuts but it bothers me.

and this is so so so so cute

LOVE this one

today

was a great day. other than me dropping bry off at the airport early this morning. 7 full days he'll be gone.

I'll miss him.

a lot.

today was elsa's 4th birthday party. 4TH! I was so excited to drive to her party.

the air was especially cool tonight. I loved it. I am so excited for fall to arrive. this is the quilt I'm dreaming off this season

cool air, warm apple cider, snuggle time with bry and big, fluffy pillows

check out this lovely

this is the home next door to us. I have always wanted to go inside. as soon as I saw the for sale sign, I looked it up online. it is as beautiful as I'd imagined. our house is to the left (aren't we lucky?)

I love the built-in and the coffered ceiling

another built-in and coffered ceiling

I love how quaint this kitchen is and that built-in is so fun

now this room, I think I would sleep in here. is it not gorgeous?

this attic is huge! it would be the perfect game room, tiny sprouts office and kids play room

and the bedrooms all have great character. I love the little windows

have a great friday. we are off to a very exciting day. more later on that!

a few of my favorite homes in woodruff place

for some reason I had my phone in my pocket while walking tonight so I took pictures of a few of my favorite homes in our neighborhood.

#4 favorite (it used to be my favorite before moving here). I love the brick, the enclosed front porch, the garage and the side yard. it is really beautiful inside too

#3. I love how set back this home is and how unique it is. it is really small and I love that even more

#2. this house is pristine. I love the huge porch, the side yard and their garage.

#1. I walk past this house almost every day and every day I see it I love it so much more. I love the color, style, porch, windows, side yard, EVERYTHING

this is only 1/4 of one side of one of the streets in this neighborhood. we are so lucky to live here.

a few new favorite things

so I promised myself last month that I wouldn't look at a single baby thing (except tiny sprouts, of course) and I did it. but this month, that is another story. I figured there is no hurt in looking. I've been collecting things since 1998 so why stop now, right?!

not sure I will ever need or want one of these but I love owls. and this is a great mix of modern and not too baby from target

this changing pad cover from land of nod. the little flower one.

these little bloomers (and baby) from three little starfish

i love the talent you can find while sitting in your pjs, drinking chai and listening to ella fitzgerald!

weekly update

last week went by quickly! some of these pictures look awful, they were taken with my camera phone.

bry and I had a great time at the buffett concert last tuesday night! we also took e & b for an afternoon so elsa could wash her koala at build-a-bear

I have been so busy and overwhelmed with tiny sprouts lately. I've tried to find ways to simplify what I do and the only thing that I could use help with is packaging and ironing and packaging clothing.

I spent 7 straight hours stitching yesterday and 2 hours packaging. it was a little disheartening when I only had 10 packages to go out this morning!
I had e & b for the day and we cooled off by getting ice cream

this past weekend my dad began my work desk. here's a peek of the colors I think I'll use for it

we also had game night on saturday. we tried the new electronic monopoly. it was so fun!

it is so nice having family so near now. I hope to never take it for granted!

kitchen love

this weekend I saw the new julia & julie movie. I LOVED julia child's kitchen in the movie. I later found out that was her actual kitchen. so cool. I also loved julie's kitchen in her small apartment. I am discovering my love for things that don't match (kind of like my clothes). check it out:

I love that the cabinets are blue, that they are not all perfectly aligned and that some of the cabinet bases are a different color than the cabinet doors. it is so unique.

this is one from cottage living

see what I mean about it not looking perfect?

then I found this bedroom. I love when kids rooms don't have a theme. this room is just simple and cute
