cross your fingers for us

TOMORROW we are looking at this house!!!!

2 things we are waiting on.
1. will they accept our pets?
2. is there a washer and dryer hookup?

home sweet home

my little vegetarians

I always feel really guilty before a trip because we have to board our dogs at a doggie daycare. though I know they are taken care of, this trip we will be gone almost a full week. I made the dogs a "special" meal tonight. it included sauteed spinach, steamed asparagus, black bean soup and pasta. YUM!

here they are patiently waiting

the doggie daycare has pictures on their site. we were looking through and found santos in a few of them.

it reassured us that they have a good time there!

IT IS BACK

I am SO excited! ROSE IS BACK!!!!!

I added it back to the site. rose is one of my favorites!

help us raise money for cora!

a few weeks ago I found out a friend's little girl had leukemia. she is 2 1/2. I simply can not imagine what they are going through. it is hard to know what to say, what to do, or if you should send something? one thing I do know is that they will have a lot of medical bills! little cora will have to have years of chemotherapy.
I would like to help raise money for their family.

by purchasing these 2 items, you can help me do just that.

on special is our popular itty-bitty-apron can be found HERE and a small white canvase tote that can be found HERE.

all sales will be donated to the garola family.
please help me make this a success!

also, there is free shipping on these items
and they will be delivered before christmas.

thanks for your support!

our moving is cursed

I am not kidding. every single time something becomes available in a good area or a good house and it has been sitting for a while, it gets rented right before we are going to look at it. back in august my dad found a house for us to rent. we went over and looked at it. it had a HUGE fenced in backyard and the house seemed to be nice. the realtor couldn't show it to us but we were planning on looking at it next week. the realtor wrote last night and said that it had been rented out and they are moving in this weekend. this house has been sitting since JULY! UGH!

I did find this one and wrote the realtor but I have dealt with him before and he is not good at communicating. so, we'll see.

mr superman

the other night as I was sitting on the couch,
I noticed half of stewart's body

I didn't know what he was doing.
I got up and peeked on the other side of the side table

he was chewing a bone. then I realized the only reason he was in that position was because the blanket had fallen off the arm of the couch and it made a good place for him to lay and chew.

superman style, of course!

all I want for christmas

is a yellow lab

I told my husband the other night that for christmas I wanted a yellow lab. he said, "absolutely not". I have always wanted to have a chocolate, black and yellow lab. I was on that path but then sophie came along.

how could we say no? the yellow lab above is 10 years old. isn't he sweet? I know I could convince bry if we lived in that house that is on 5.5 acres

I love rescue dogs, OLD dogs and BIG dogs.

love this kitchen

I love how simple it is and the HUGE hutch. oh, and the sink

clean house

don't you LOVE it when your house is clean? everything organized and new linens on your beds? I watched oprah's clean your house america (or whatever it was called) and decided I could clean out some closets.
I have been waiting for it to get cold here so I could bring out my new quilt. it hit 49 (and that is cold in florida) so I brought it out. it was so nice and warm last night.

new quilt for the guest room since we are having a visitor this weekend!

holiday pictures hung in our bathroom

rearrangement of furniture. I moved the nightstands from our bedroom to the family room and the family room ones to our room. then I moved the rug from my office to the family room. sophie approved.

cleaned the kitchen

reorganized

my favorite new place for our towels

and to top off the evening, I made homemade chocolate chip cookies

hopefully it can stay this clean. at least until the weekend!

merry christmas

soon it will be time to decorate for christmas. I love bringing out all the christmas decorations and remembering where they came from. one of my favorite things is a plate my bff brooke bought me in college. and also a mini christmas tree she brought to my house when I was a senior in high school. we made my room all christmasy so after school we could turn on the white lights, watch oprah and eat chocolate chip bagels.
to add to my collection this year, I am thinking about this.

how cute is this? and it is hand-painted. people on etsy are so talented! this sign is from countryworkshop

i love jcrew

i have been in love with jcrew since i was in the 10th grade. I remember getting the catalog and being able to order a few things for my fall clothes. growing up we used to have the tradition to every year go "fall shopping" for new clothes. it was so fun. i wish we still had that tradition and my mom still paid!
i saw this shirt about 2 weeks ago and i swear i have thought about it every day since but it is $50!

i had been waiting for another shirt to go on sale that i saw in the store. it finally did for $19.99 and they all sold out so fast. i wanted it in every color. i wish i could have a more diverse wardrobe but i just don't like it. i want to wear jeans and a tee every day. it is the best.

I think my heart just exploded when I saw this on PALOMAS NEST

love this weather

it is weird but it has been cooler here than indy was last week when I visited. tuesday and wednesday the sun didn't come out and it really felt like fall here. I loved it. we stayed in and snuggled with the dogs on the couch. stewart was so cold so we put our favorite quilt on him and he slept and slept and slept. love that dog.

this is what I am dreaming of for christmas

lots of snow, fires, chex mix, cookies and christmas movies!

wow

I can't believe it is november! and also that I haven't blogged for a week! I was just not in the mood to write and then all of the sudden, at 1 a.m. I felt like it before bed.

I am in indy now and it is NOT cold. in fact, it was 68 today. tomorrow we are heading to brown county and I can't wait. I just hope it gets cold overnight. I want to stroll the streets drinking hot apple cider, wearing mittens and wishing it were a bit warmer out.

thursday morning I woke up by an alarm and it always catches me off guard. I wake up and immediately think, why did I set the alarm? it is so nice being able to wake up in the morning and not feeling rushed. I felt rushed because I still had to pack a few things before my flight. in the midst of it all, I couldn't find my cell phone. I hate traveling without it because as soon as my husband drops me off at the airport I want to call him to hear his voice. before he dropped me off we went to the post office so I could mail ts packages. in the basket was my cell phone. yeah!

I am standing in line checking luggage and I pull out my wallet to grab my ID. I then realize that I don't have my ID, only my old ID with my maiden name. the only reason I have my old ID is to show it when I use my credit card that has my maiden name. 4 years later. I quickly grab my cell phone (thankfully, right?) and call my husband so he can bring it to me. and being the morbid person I am, I began thinking, is the reason I forgot my ID so I can see my husband one last time before I board my flight...I hate those thoughts but I have always been that way.

I arrive at the southwest gate and they were about to pre-board. the guy announces, now boarding seats A17-A30. I was A26. I walked up and handed my ticket. he looked at it, looked at me and said, you are A26, you have to board in numerical order. am I really supposed to ask, who has A25? I felt like I was in the scene of "meet the fockers" when greg is at the airport trying to board early, no one is waiting but the lady makes him wait until his row is called.

I arrive in indy and later drove past the house I wanted to rent. it became unavailable a week before I was to look at it. so I drove past it last night, rolled the window down and screamed.

wednesday before I left I felt like getting my hair cut. and not me cutting it. so I went to a salon (I think I have only been to one once in my entire life, or at least one that did not think perming hair was cool.). I said, cut my hair, make it choppy and vintage looking. the guy looks at me and I know what he thought. I was crazy. he cut my hair and then began to style it. and by styling I mean curling and using hairspray. I tried not to cry. I haven't used hairspray since 7th grade when bangs were popular. as soon as I looked at my hair I thought I was going to the prom. I quickly exit, mall walk to my car, get home, stewart howled at the door because he didn't recognize me (I swear) and I ran in and took a shower.
so that is what was missed in a week of me not blogging. and this:

holiday line will be up on monday. promise!
