i'm it!

I was tagged twice today. first from jen! here is my photo from my 6th photo folder and the 6th picture.
this is a picture of me with my friend kerri at her wedding.
it was a great day!

next, I was tagged from tania.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs.

here are my 7 facts about myself:

2. I like to drink hot coffee in the morning with a fun flavored creamer
3. I am a proud vegetarian
4. I kiss my dogs several times a day
5. last year I knew I had an eye infection coming on. I ended up putting the wrong drops in my eye. it ended up being a pupil-dilator. my eye was dilated for 5 days. I had to chew nicorette to reverse the effects of the drops. it didn't work and I ended up throwing up because of the nicotine in the gum.

computer off=more things done

I always feel so productive when I have the computer turned off. so last night before bed I decided that I would not start my day by checking email, orders, etc. I felt so great by 11 a.m. because this is what I had accomplished:

*made homemade pumpkin bread
*cleaned all the dishes in the sink
*cleaned some of the grout on our counter tops with baking soda
(don't ever get tile countertops).
*walked the dogs
*ate pumpkin bread
*gave sophie AND stewart a bath (santos gets his haircut soon so I skipped him)
*took a phone order for tiny sprouts

when I did get on the computer, I had this great picture waiting for me!

nice people

I seriously have the nicest customers.
kim took time out of her day to tell me this!

"Hey, I just want to let you know, I totally appreciate the very special hand-dyed clothing you make. And I have a new appreciation for it...my daughter, Avery wants to be a purple ostrich for Halloween so I found some great purple feather boa's and was trying to dye a turtle-neck to match (a pale lavender). It's so hard to get the right shade, I never realized how difficult it is. Thanks for all the love and passion you put into your goods. We love them. Happy Halloween! -Kim"

how sweet!

a special party

on saturday I was invited to a birthday party with my friend jen. not only was I excited to get to spend part of the day with jen, but to also be a part of a special party. the party was for a little 2 year old girl that stays at the sallie house. the sallie house is a rescue type housing for kids that are in immediate danger in their own homes.

there were several volunteers that came, each bringing something to make the party a success. we decorated and shortly after, 18 kids jumped out of a van and ran to the playground. I can't tell you how meaningful it was to be a part of this. kids that have had hard times were able to be free and run and laugh and play. there was a little boy, gabriel, who really had a special place in my heart. he is 15 months and has just begun to walk. he was walking around trying to balance himself. he wanted to be held and loved on. these kids were so special. the best part? seeing 18 kids running around with suckers and balloons tied around their wrists. they were so happy! I can't wait for the next party!

it's back!

our hooded jacket is now back in stock.
find it HERE

did you watch?

I haven't. yet. I need someone to watch this show with me because I know I will be emotional and mad at the same time.

why do we find this treatment acceptable?

"The typical crate for a young male calf being raised for veal has enough room for him to stick his head out. Pregnant pigs—which can weigh more than 500 pounds—are about 5 to 6 feet long, while the cages they live in are about 7 feet long."

"Do you know how a veal chop gets from the farm to your dinner plate? In 2002, Bradley Miller of the Humane Farming Association, shot footage of veal calves in their crates. The footage shows the calves chained inside their 22-inch wooden crates. "They can't walk or even turn around," he says. "This is how they live every minute, every hour, every day for their entire 16 weeks of life."

Bradley says the calves are fed an all-liquid diet. "Many of the calves were so weak, they couldn't even stand up. They were just lying and coughing from pneumonia," he says. "When it comes time to slaughter, some of these calves literally need to be dragged out of their crates because they had never walked before."

I believe all animals should be given this lifestyle even though I am against meat-eating. at least let them move freely!

if only the world knew what they weren't missing without meat. how much healthier you'd be without it. the u.s. needs a change. at least for the sake of all the animals!

learning

patience. once again. so this cute house will take 3 dogs. YES.
now the hard part is waiting.
waiting on:
*accepting rental application
*moving time frame
*finding someone to rent our house to match the rent up there.

that is the hard part. if we found that, I would be packing tomorrow. we have been saving boxes for a little over a year. we will be set.

love this porch

love this little seat. good place to put on snow boots!

future office?

dining area. I love the angled wall.

the rental place will only hold our deposit for 3 weeks until our lease must begin. I am hoping this house doesn't get rented before we can get to it!

I'd like this for our guest room for little e & b

and this for my mil when she visits and realizes she LOVES the cold

I love to decorate. how can you not when you get the big fat inspiration catalog every month from pottery barn?

mission

I am on a mission to be *officially* caught up on orders before I leave for indy in a few weeks. it has been 16 months since I have had orders out in less than 2 weeks. I really want to be able to get orders out sooner. lately I have been stitching, stitching, stitching until my hand can no longer take it. I even had to pick one of these up.

my husband asked when I joined a bowling league.

nutritional yeast

have you ever tried this?

I was introduced to this several months ago and ever since I have been hooked. it is called nutritional yeast and it is packed with B vitamins, protein and vitamins. it is great on pasta, popcorn and hidden in sauces for extra vitamins.

perfect fall day

this time of year is about the time I get really homesick for indiana. luckily these past few weeks have been really nice, breezy weather here. some of my favorite things to do this time of year in indiana.

visit the apple orchard

visit brown county

visit the house I want to buy. STILL.

it isn't for sale anymore but if we ever sell our home I plan to knock on the door and make him an offer. wouldn't it be great if someone would do that to us here?

happy sunday!
