I will have a picture of these on vincent after this weekend. if you aren't a fan yet, you will be by the end of the weekend (I hope anyway!).

flash back, 1985
we had a power outage today so we headed to some thrift stores. so fun. I love finding old books! .jpg)
not only did I meet the CUTEST ever grandpa (he had on a light blue cardigan with a butter shirt underneath and really cute glasses) looking for books too but I found these:.jpg)
growing up I had a giraffe mug similiar to this. when I saw it I remembered holding it when we lived at our house that had pineapple wallpaper in the kitchen. isn't it funny how something like that can take you back 23 years? my kids will have these one day in their bathroom.

almost here

am I the only idiot running a business that didn't check what day easter was on this year? I thought it was for sure in april. so....my easter line is running a bit late (probably too late) so we will just call it the spring line. the rest of the photos will be taken this week and then stay tuned for an easter special! for now here is a preview of a sweet dress!

I am getting it in 8 pounds
how cute is this suit from jcrew?
they always make the best suits. they have full back coverage and that is a plus for me. so for the past 3 days I have been on a mission to lose 8 pounds. we are going on a cruise in april for our anny and I would love to actually feel good in a bikini. how am I losing my muffin top? 1200 calorie days and working out. I NEVER thought I ate much more than 1200 calories. I sure was wrong. I should take a picture of how little food 1200 calories actually is. I am so hungry right now and instead of eating I thought I would type to see if that would help. it didn't work so I will go to bed so the time goes by quicker until my next meal.
please note: in order to look like the model in the swimsuit you must consume 500 calories a day, have a spray tan and be airbrushed.

jacket and pants
I just received this photo and had to post, of course.
shannon makes me goo goo ga ga!
I wanted to have a newborn in this outfit because I really don't think people get how cute it is! I ALMOST switched the welcome home top to this but my sister said no so I listened. this is the thickest, softest little top. perfect to wear a onesie underneath or the jacket alone. truly one of my favorite pieces!

does recycling give you anxiety?
.jpg)
it does me. I am not sure why. is it because I read so much about how things that we throw away sit in a landfill for years? my recent anxiety issue was at costco. I wanted to buy the lint rollers but as I looked at them in a big pack of 6 it stressed me out. they make my life so much easier but all that paper and the plastic rollers made me question if they were worth it. the good thing is I live in a great city who really is great about recycling. every month with our water bill we get a little info on the city. it stated 62% of residents recycle. it is SO easy and pure laziness when it is not done when you live in a city like ours. so anyway, the lint rollers are recyclable and the used sheets can be recycled with our paper. so I bought them.
my next big thing was my packaging. I hated to use those tyvek envelopes because I know people just throw them away AND they are so ugly. so I switched back to kraft paper that is made from recyclable paper and is 100% biodegradable. my mission this year was to buy only products for packaging that are made with recyclable materials and, if possible, 100% biodegradable. check out how cute:
these boxes are not deep enough for most of my products so I will be adding kraft boxes soon. I am hoping people will either reuse the box and ribbon or keep it for a keepsake box.

I want this for my office
how cute is this?
my husband is on a handyman kick! love it when he gets this way. he is installing a fence for our yard and beadboard in my tiny half bath (one of my favorite rooms of our house) and next I want him to assemble this. how fun would this be to work in every day? it is 8x6 so it would be the perfect size! if he could just install air so the summers would be enjoyable.

we love her and miss her.
the march of dimes is near and dear to my heart. we raise money so they can find answers and cures for premature births and deaths.
we raised almost $3000 last year in 2 months. my goal is $2000 this year and I am hoping to beat last year's!
thank you in advance for your support!

few quick facts

okay, so if you read my blog please know that I am NOT trying to harp veg on all of you non-veg BUT I think it is important to be educated on some important facts.
The Real Cost of Meat
If you think that the $8.99 per pound that you are paying for organic chicken is a bit steep, then you will probably be blown away by all of the costs not reflected on the price tag at the grocery store. Here are a few of the highlights from a very enlightening story in The New York Times.
* In the last five months, Brazil has lost 1,250 square miles (not acres) of rain forest to deforestation for grazing and crops.
* Per capita meat consumption doubled from 1961 to 2007 and is expected to double again by 2050.
* 30% of the Earth’s ice-free land is involved in livestock production.
* The energy required to produce just 2.2 pounds of meat could power a 100 watt light bulb for 20 days.
story from the new york times
these pictures made my eyes fill up with tears.

europe here we come!

we have been talking about traveling to europe for quite some time. we have also been talking about having kids for quite some time. everyone ALWAYS says TRAVEL FIRST and then have kids. after kids everything is different, they say. so we thought, let's travel in 2008 and see parts of the world. I always hate to say when we are older, let's travel and go here and there. what if we never get to that point (trying not to sound too morbid here). so....in september 2008 we are going to europe! we are quite excited. we will be going on a cruise which is a more affordable way to do it. the cruise is 12 nights. we will first being going to ireland for a few days before the cruise departs. the cruise departs from london and then visiting the following:
Le Havre (Paris), France
Vigo, Spain
Lisbon, Portugal
Malaga, Spain
Barcelona, Spain
Cannes, France
Livorno, Italy
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
anyone have any travel tips or places we should be sure to see?
7 months and counting...
