IN

YAHOO! the pictures are here. more to come in the next few days.
here are the latest additions for tiny sprouts!

this is the sweetest EVER apron

one night while sleeping I woke up at 3 a.m., sat up in bed and thought, I need to add a growth chart. the next day my mom came into town and we were on top of the project. it is my favorite! choose a mixed thread color option and the numbers will be different colors as well as the name.

don't you ever wonder when you are at someone's house and they have a baby if it is okay to go in a room?
I thought these door pillows would be a fun addition.

for the longest time I was unable to find the green pom pom's for the pillow cover. I thought if I bought white pom pom's and hand-dyed them with a celery batch that that would be my solution. for some reason the dye wouldn't hold and I was stuck with 30 yards of it! so I put it to good use and had tooth fairy pillows made. or you can call them "pillow with a pocket." these are available in cotton candy or powder. they are so so so sweet. I love the little pocket!

more pictures to be added to the site soon!
hope you love the new additions!

baby love

this mattress from until kara is on my baby list. I really want to buy baby stuff from all people I have met online that have their own businesses. michelle, from until kara, is one of the nicest and most thoughtful online people I have met. she ordered something from me and after she received it she wrote to tell me how much she liked it and my embroidery. soon after my nephew came along, she sent him a BIG, no, HUGE box of goodies. I loved the rattle she sent. her blankets and burp cloths were super soft and natural.
she is just thoughtful and I love people like that!

refresh, refresh, refresh

the photoshoot was today and I am waiting for the sneak peak pictures in my inbox. I have been hitting "refresh" for the last 20 minutes. I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait to get these new photos!

I have a feeling these growth charts will be selling quickly. I have had a number of emails about them so I am really excited!

are you addicted to design mom like me? she always has great articles, crafts, and giveaways on there. stayed tuned for tiny sprouts, we will be hosting a giveaway on there next week!

herb garden

last week we planted our herb garden

we planted basil, cilantro, mint, oregano, chives and rosemary

so far the cilantro is the only herb that hasn't survived
and the mint is struggling.

the basil, however, is doing really great.
it has probably doubled in size since last week.

here's to a summer full of tomatoes, mozzarella & fresh basil!

onesie with mitten cuffs

our first new product was just added to the site.
welcome our onesie with mitten cuffs

no need to worry about adding separate mittens for baby, this onesie comes complete with fold over mittens when needed that are attached to the onesie. this onesie is super soft
and is a perfect piece for a newborn baby.

happy memorial day

one great thing about the street we live on is that it is considered "main street" in our city. so every year for memorial day and 4th of july, a volunteer lines our street with mini flags.

thank you to all of the men and women who have given their lives while serving our country and also to those who have served
and are currently serving. you are appreciated!

I don't read the news enough

last week I ordered everything burt's bees. the reason being is because it is almost 100% natural, 100% biodegradable, etc. I was so excited about it. then today I ran across this article from jan 2008! had I known that burts is now owned by clorox, I would have never bought it. it recently started when they came out with their "greenworks" line.

this is a company who obviously does not believe in being green-they make BLEACH! and their ad campaign that these clean better than the traditional cleaners. then why do they still make their other products?!
oh, burts bees, I hope you are enjoying the $913 million your company was bought for.

on a positive note, maybe this will influence more people to buy natural products than ones made with parabens, sulfates, phthalates, etc.

and after reading this article I found out that tom's of maine is partially owned by colgate and l'oreal purchased the body shop.
welcome to the usa, welcome to corporate america!

L-O-V-E

I am crazy for this quilt from whimsie dots

springy, homey, unisex and handmade!

take me-NOW

our dogs are on a very scheduled routine. we wake up and within 20 minutes they must be out the door. in the evening, they eat dinner and they must walk shortly after. last night stewart was ready to go. he always has to have something in his mouth and last night he grabbed the remote off the table and was prancing around the house with it.

finally

after a little researching I found an organic farm in tampa! who knew? so on sunday they have market days and you can go in the fields and pick your produce! HOW FUN! I can't wait until sunday!

i love nice people

today I received one of the nicest emails. it made me smile so big and made me appreciate my business even more!

"I just received the items I ordered for my twin girls, Kate and Olivia. I
have to say that you have one amazing business... the items were packaged so beautifully that I didn't want to open them... and once I did, I couldn't believe how precious the pants sets and sun hats were. My first order was a gift for someone else so I never got to see the packaging and merchandise... now that I finally ordered something for my own kids... I am blown away by how gorgeous everything is. I now have my "go to" baby gift website - I know all of my friends will appreciate your beautiful products as much as I do. Congratulations on a job well done! Keep up the good work! Thanks so much, Kelly"

thanks, kelly!

on their way

finally, finally the package is on its way to my photographer! I feel like I have been in slow-mo to get it out. here are some exciting products coming to tiny sprouts in the next few weeks:

*tooth-fairy pillow (or pillow with a pocket)
*growth chart
*door pillow
*girly tee in 6-12 months and 12-18 months size
*boy tee in 6-12 months and 12-18 months size

also, another exciting feature soon to come on the site is a *wishlist*. kind of like a registry so if you are prego or plan to be, you can create your wishlist so people can purchase gifts for you.

loft living

I have really been into the idea of living in an old building for about a year. I found this one in downtown indy and
now one for rent on the first floor!

I love the open feel, exposed brick and ductwork and just that "old" feel

this would be really hard though with 3 dogs and a 1 bedroom place but it is almost as big as our house now!

birds of a feather

I am really into birds lately or at least they have been on my mind.

the first bird I love is from bird nerd

perfect for a nursery, huh?

bird #2 is a bird card from city bird designs.

bird #3 has been on my wish list for years, seriously.
it is from joom on etsy, of course.

and bird #4 from bla bla kids.

now I think my thought of birds started on saturday night. it was around midnight and we had just gotten home from a friends house. we let the dogs out. now normally after about a minute they start barking to come in. we realized it had been about 5 and we knew they were up to something. bryan (that is my husband) approaches the yard to see all 3 dogs huddled together. he yells for stewart.

he comes running full speed with something in his mouth. yep, you guessed it, a baby bird. the poor little birds legs were the only thing hanging out of stewart's mouth. bryan asked him to "drop it" and he spit it out with little life left in it. why I looked I will never know. so today we will have a little funeral for the bird I named pixie. sniff sniff

awesome house

check out this new find!

sweet bath. love the storage, the floors and the yella tile

family room with wood burning fireplace

nice open kitchen to the family room

dining room

I believe this is when you enter the house. love the archway!

all 3 bedrooms have hardwoods

3/4 acre that is completely fenced!

love this guy

my husband. could I ask for a better one? he has been working a lot this week and it has made me miss him terribly. it reminded me of his old job when he would leave for work at 11 a.m. and not get home until 1 a.m. I hated those days and it made me so thankful all over again that he no longer has that job! so I have major baby itch but I don't think I am the only one. I found my husband reading this clearblue easy manual the other morning.

and when I see him holding babies it makes my heart skip

he saw a stroller the other day and said, remember "quinny, I really like that stroller. it is nice and compact."

only downside is the travel set is $750! ouchy!

fresh bread

this morning I stopped at a produce stand and picked up herbs for our garden. they are already plants so it is great. I decided to make bread using the fresh herbs. this is what I made:
(L) cinnamon-sugar-raisin (R) parmesan-basil-oregano-rosemary

I learned a few times ago that instead of adding the cheese while making the dough, to add it after you have it rolled out, like this:

and added the herbs:

then waited all day to rise:

fresh bread at 11:20 p.m. I will sleep well tonight!

heaven

check out this little guy

is he not PRECIOUS?
the only title I could find appropriate for this post is "heaven".
he is a little slice, isn't he?

don't mess with me

this afternoon I walked into our bedroom and found this:

sophie, aka punky, is always guarding our house. if I wake up in the middle of the night, there she is, sitting up looking out the window on the lookout. I wish she could talk, if she could, I think in this next picture she would say, what are you looking at?

still looking

she finally got too tired of sitting
and laid down, with her paws crossed of course!
