dyeing pangs
so we got our new washer last week and ever since it has been a major headache. none of my garments are dyeing correctly. either the dye won't stay in, the garment will have dye spots or once I add the salt all of the dye turns to yellow. so if you are patiently waiting for your order please know that I am trying my best to get them out! thanks!

another sweet one
love the front of the house and the landscaping
basement for my husband
love this kitchen and the double oven. I would have to change that wall color though!
this fireplace is so neat. I am not sure if that is black trim or if it is a dark walnut. hopefully a dark walnut!
LOVE this bathroom. and the floor is black hex. I wouldn't have to clean the floor! yeah!
this is the master and I am crazy about that color on the walls. love the doors, too.
love the nooks in the bedrooms. would be fun to put a little desk for our kid.
not sure how big the yard is but it is fenced. that means good things for our dogs!

BIG kitchen for the holidays. hopefully filled with lots of family, nieces & nephews and DOGS!
this is a built-in armoire between 2 of the 3 bedrooms upstairs.

patience

we have had our house on the market for 20 long days now. the first day we had a call and a single lady came to look at it. 1.5 hours later she was done. we thought this was it. she never called back. what and why do you look at a house for 1.5 hours? I mean really. did you watch t.v.? do some laundry? ughh, it is so hard to be patient in a market that is so bad. it will probably take a long time for our home to sell but it is priced to sell. we priced it under all the others in hopes of a good sale. and we are paying the buyer's realtor 3.5% instead of 3%. I was dreaming of being in indianapolis this fall. taking my niece to the apple orchard. my husband and me walking in the park and seeing the beautiful leaves. I know we have many falls ahead of us but tonight I was growing homesick for this house I want to buy. check out how beautiful!
my new camera

just when I think I am about to purchase a new camera something breaks in our house. 3 months ago it was the air conditioner, the month after that it was the plumbing and last month it was our washer valve. so this month instead of buying a camera we purchased a new washer. the repair man came today and said the computer board on our washer had gone out. it would be $450 to fix it. add the $200 we paid last month & that equals the newest fisher & paykel washer. the repair man suggested not buying a washer with a computer in it. it is hard to find that these days. kind of like the avocado color I wanted. my grandma has the same mustard washer and dryer since the 70's. probably not the most energy efficient but it obviously has worked well! as we walked out of the store we saw their clearance section. guess what was there? yep, 2 fisher & paykel washers. they both said, "broken but fixed".

piece of crap
I got up early to finish some rush orders and my washer decided it didn't want to work. it just beeped and beeped and beeped at me. so I unplugged it and left the room. I came back an hour later, plugged it back in and it works! I was so happy. not only because we just had this washer fixed less than 1 month ago (for $200) but because it is only 2 years old! I began dyeing clothes and it quit working again. to top it off, our warranty expired 3 months ago. fisher & paykel, you make a piece of crap! what happened to the days when washers lasted 30 years?

if you only knew her

today I met my friend kerri at her house for breakfast. she opened the door and was frantic. the lady that was to buy her home had not followed through. she was very emotional. she then called the realtor of their soon-to-be home to tell her the deal had fallen through. the realtor had suggested they list it with her. kerri then began describing her home. she said, "oh yes, it is a beautiful home, in a great area and neighborhood--it is right across the street from a cemetery"

for the love of the game

today was the official start of football season at our house. it was the first home game. you bet, my husband was up at 7 a.m. loading the truck for the first tailgate of the season. as I was driving to starbucks early this morning, a big pick-up truck pulled up next to me. it was equipped with 8 flags on it. all football, of course. it was at that moment that I "got it" about the love of the game. my husband had a very demanding job a few years ago. he would work around 60-70 hours a week, never get to attend a football game and rarely saw his friends. he decided to give it up not too long ago and have a life! it is fun to see him enjoy what he loves doing most- watching football!

little wants

I remember telling my husband not so long ago that if I reached a new sales goal that I was going to purchase myself an ivory mini cooper. I reached that sales goal last month and I didn't buy myself a mini cooper. I would still love to have one because I think they are so cool but I don't want the car payment. I have a few car payments left on my car and I can't wait to have it paid off! what a great feeling that will be. so now I said since I am not going to buy a mini cooper, I think I just want to buy a new camera. I love taking photos of my dogs. I have always wanted a big collage on the wall of them and one day I will add my kids to it when we have some! here is an example of the collage wall I want in our new house. we are planning a BIG move up north so I will wait to do this. besides, we have plaster walls now and my husband would kill me if I began drilling new holes in the wall!
little punky

for some reason I came up with a nickname for our dog sophie. it is punky. I am not sure why it is punky, I think it is because growing up I used to watch punky bruster. last night I had given our dogs some bones to chew. when we went to bed we found sophie in our closet in the clothes basket with her bone underneath her chest. then I remembered why I nicknamed her punky!

one of the greatest movies

today couldn't have been any better unless there were a slight chill in the air and I was drinking chai. what made the day so great? baby boom was on this afternoon. I LOVE that movie. I love that it takes place in vermont and that she makes homemade baby food. I especially love her packaging and the 68 acres she lives on. how awesome would that be? her house is one of the best parts though. I recorded it so I can watch it again tonight!
